DIFFERENT KINDS OF PAINT SHEENS AND WHERE TO USE

Where I share all my tips & tricks with you!

ALL THINGS PAINT!

There are a million different kinds and shades of paint colors. Not only can it be hard to pick the perfect paint color, it can also be hard to pick a paint sheen. Luckily, I can help you with that and make your decision a lot easier. First, let’s go through the different types of sheens.

FLAT PAINT

Flat paint has the lowest reflective out of all the sheens. Instead of it reflecting light, it actually absorbs light and it carries a smooth and clean look to any wall in your house. Ideal for low traffic areas.

EGGSHELL

Eggshell paint has a little velvety look to it. If you look at a chicken egg (hence the name), it has a very subtle soft glow to it. That’s the same look you will get with this sheen. Ideal for moderate traffic areas.

SATIN

Satin paint has a pearl like look to it. It has a soft pearly glow and will make your walls or trim look great, just like a pearl. Ideal for high traffic areas with more moisture rooms.

SEMI-GLOSS

Semi-Gloss has a sleek shine to it. If you want to bounce some light in your house then this is your sheen. Not only is it a great reflective sheen it is great to clean. Ideal for high traffic area.

HIGH GLOSS

High Gloss has the highest reflective out of all the sheens. It gives a glass like look to any surface. Ideal for high traffic areas.
